活動主題
This exhibition explores how photographs tell stories through the depiction of objects, people, and places. It asks which stories are important to tell now as well as how photography can tell stories in compelling and honest ways. In photography books and exhibitions, narratives are often constructed by sequencing multiple images. This exhibition focuses on how single photographs can summarize or represent larger narratives and stand on their own.

Entry is open to regional, national, and international artists, members and non-members of CPAC. All lens-based media are eligible, including but not limited to images made by film, scanner, screen-capture, digital camera, and any means of mobile photography.

評審
Mary Statzer is Curator of Prints and Photographs at University of New Mexico Art Museum. Her recent lens-based exhibitions include Patrick Nagatani: A Survey of Early Photographs; Please Enjoy and Return: Bruce Conner Films from the Sixties; and Embodied Resonance: Jess T. Dugan and Anne Noggle. In 2021, she co-developed a virtual platform for artist/museum engagement that features Rose B. Simpson (Santa Clara Pueblo, NM) in its first adaptation.
Mary regularly participates in photography reviews, including REVIEW Santa Fe, Medium San Diego, Filter in Chicago, and LACP's Exposure. She has written about photography for Aperture magazine and edited a multi-author book titled, The Photographic Object 1970 (UC Press, 2016). Mary holds an MFA in printmaking from Arizona State University and PhD in art history with specialties in the history of photography and museum studies from the University of Arizona.

Each artist retains all copyrights to their own images. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use. By submission for jurying, artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant The Colorado Photographic Arts Center the right to use their images for the purpose of promoting the artist, promoting CPAC’s programs, promoting exhibitions and subsequent display on CPAC’s website of current and past exhibitions. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for The Colorado Photographic Arts Center with artist credit. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from CPAC.
