這個國際一級建築創意大賽邀請所有建築學和風景園林專業的學生、年輕的建築師和風景園林建築師、擁有建築學或風景園林專業學位的年輕專業人士(≤40歲)為Mirador在葡萄牙Algarve的Zavial炮台的場地設計開發並提交引人注目的創意。 這裡通過時間和記憶提供了一種獨特的體驗。

COMPETITION

The Site Mirador offers a unique experience through time and memory. It is a powerful moment to increase and stimulate the senses, to feel the weight of the cliffs, the depth of the crevices, the strength of the water and the openness of the horizon; it is a place for contemplation and a landmark within the landscape.

BRIEF

This international one-stage architecture ideas competition invites all architecture and landscape architecture students, young architects and landscape architects, young professionals with a degree in architecture studies and landscape architecture studies (≤ 40 years old) to develop and submit compelling ideas for the design of a Site Mirador located at the Zavial Battery, Algarve, Portugal.

The Zavial Battery remains are a significant landmark of great cultural heritage and historical significance with characteristics that must be fully preserved.

When generating a vision for an intervention located within such a remarkable place, it is essential that each design proposal emphasises, respects and celebrates the site and existing ruins, while providing a unique and memorable experience.

SITE MIRADOR

The Site Mirador offers a unique experience through time and memory. It is a powerful moment to increase and stimulate the senses, to feel the weight of the cliffs, the depth of the crevices, the strength of the water and the openness of the horizon; it is a place for contemplation and a landmark within the landscape.
There are no limitations in height, excavation or extension beyond the cliff edges.

Entrance *
Provide a space of transition between the natural landscape and the Site Mirador.

Mirador *
Provide a look-out point, an intimate and powerful place for contemplation; to enhance the experience with(in) the cliffs and the ocean; it can be a singular space or a sequence of spaces, open and / or enclosed to the natural elements.

Information space *
Area designated to provide visitors with information about the history of the site, open and / or enclosed to the natural elements.

* Areas to be determined by each participant’s design proposal.

Total area of the Site Mirador to be determined by each participant’s proposal.

(suggestion: 40 – 60m2)

Notes:

The overall design of the Site Mirador must be sensitive to the surrounding context. The existing ruins may or may not be included within the Site Mirador design proposal. Spaces of the Site Mirador can be combined and / or separated. Because this is an ideas competition, urban planning and building regulations will not be applied to the design proposal.

JURY

The jury members will be composed of the following international professional architects.

Nicolas del Rio (Chile, Germany)  DRAA   Nicolas del Rio (1975) Arch. PUC, MSc Oxford Brookes, leads the award winning office DRAA. He is a lecturer at USS and has been invited as jury to various other Universities such as Cornell and PUC. Their work has been widely published and selected for exhibitions and biennales.  DRAA is ran from Santiago, Frutillar and Berlin, currently developing private houses, a housing complex and interior design works in Chile and Germany.  Erik Törnkvist Erik Törnkvist (Sweden)   ETAT ARKITEKTER   Erik Törnkvist received his degree in architecture from the Department of Architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He also studied architectural conservation at The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and holds a BA in History from Uppsala University. Erik established Etat arkitekter in 2008 and has since been the office director and principal architect.  Erik has an international profile and has been engaged as critic and lecturer in Rome, Istanbul and Tokyo and was Fellow in Architecture at Istituto Svedese di Studi Classici a Roma in 2015- 2016.  He is published in Nordic Journal of Architecture.  Søren Johansen + Sebastian Skovsted Søren Johansen + Sebastian Skovsted (Denmark)   Johansen Skovsted Arkitekter   Johansen Skovsted Arkitekter is an architectural office based in Copenhagen, founded by Søren Johansen (b.1981) and Sebastian Skovsted (b.1982) in 2014. The office has been rewarded by several prizes, such as the AD Design Award 2018, the Three-Year Working Grant of the Danish Arts Foundation 2017, the Danish Crown Prince Couple’s Stardust Award 2016. Both Søren Johansen and Sebastian Skovsted have studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (KADK). In addition to their practice they teach at KADK. Publications

All submissions will be published on the ArkxSite website.
All reasonable efforts will be made to publish and promote the winners and honorable mentions in architectural magazines and blogs worldwide; however, such results will rely on agreements made with the publication entities.
