2020年4月1日(水)より応募受付を開始した「日本空間デザイン賞2020」ですが、当初は5月16日を受付締め切りとしておりましたが、応募期間を下記のとおり延長することといたしました。

11. 生活空間：包含住宅、樣品屋等。
Application Requirements
Eligibility
- We widely seek works that aim to create communication design in space from home and abroad.
- We are looking for outstanding works from various professionals involved in spatial design such as designers, producers, creators, art directors, planners, architects, engineers, educators, researchers and others.
- It is limited to works that are completed between May 1st, 2019 and April 30th, 2020.

Review Method
First Jury
The committee will make a longlist based on the submitted works.The results will be announced to all of applicants by email. It will be announced on the website as well.(To be announced in late June)
Second Jury
The committee will select BEST 100 “Shortlist” based on the submitted works and make a shortlist of 10 works of each 11 category.
The results will be announced to the selected nominees of longlist by email and will be available to the public through the website as well. (To be announced in mid-July)
The nominee will prepare and submit presentation boards (2 panels in A2 size) for the upcoming third jury.
Third Jury
It will be an open jury. 3 works will be selected for gold, silver, and bronze prizes for the 11 categories. The results will be announced to all BEST 100 “Shortlist” by email and will be available to the public through the website. (To be announced in late August)
Final Jury
Winners (1-3) selected from the 11 gold prizes will be awarded as KUKAN OF THE YEAR.
It will be announced at the award ceremony scheduled in early November.
The announcement method is to be released later.

Jury Members
Judges for the First Jury and the Second Jury
Professional members in spatial design field with wide knowledge, experience and insights will join the jury.
Judges for the Third Jury and the Final Jury
Creators, experts and media critics who represent the Japanese design world will join the jury.
The presidents of both associations will be the chairman and the vice chairman of the jury.
Entry fees
1 work/ Entry from oversea：26,400 JPY with tax
1 work/ Entry + Supplementary video from oversea：33,000 JPY with tax
The entry fee is payable by credit card (VISA · Master · JCB).

Only acceptable in Japanese or English

We have revised the application method for supplemental video applications.

Announcement & Publication
- The results of the jury will be announced at the This site.
- BEST 100 (Shortlist) and nominees (Longlist) will be posted on the site.
- BEST 100 (Shortlist) works will be published in “Annual of Spatial Design in Japan 2021”.
In the case of duplicate works or series works, not all works may be published. Please promptly submit the photo materials and other necessary materials for annual book publication to the designated publisher under the responsibility of the applicants.

- Award-winning works are scheduled to be exhibited in major cities across the country.
- Presentation in “JAPAN KUKAN DESIGN AWARD Exhibition 2020” is scheduled at “GOOD DESIGN MARUNOUCHI” for two weeks from the 3rd of February, 2021.
Notes
- Even after the jury, award will be canceled if the work is found to have committed plagiarism, processing/ modification of photograph data with false intentions.
- Applicants must complete the coordination among stakeholders in advance before registration. Applicants should be responsible for managing and resolving the issues of copyright, right to use the photographs, right to publish, industrial property rights and others.Please note that double entries for the same work is not allowed.If these procedures are not carried out, awarded or selected works will not be published in the annual book.Please apply after solving photo usage fees between the applicants and the photographers.
- Copyrights in photographic images are reserved to the author, but other rights will be reserved to the organizer and publisher of “Annual of Spatial Design in Japan”, and the annual publication committee. The rights include publishing materials in the “Annual of Spatial Design in Japan 2021” (paper and electronic version), other publications, the association website, exhibitions, associated partnership sites, and making DVD of image data.
- If the permission can’t be granted, we will cancel the prize.
- Also, it is assumed that publishing of the author’s name is unnecessary, if the photographer’s name is not entered in the application form.
