The GDA Design for Care Award seeks to promote the role of design in transforming healthcare and social services and to encourage designers, innovators, and businesses to develop products, services, and systems that put people at the center of care. The selection panel is led by renowned international designers who have previous experience in this type of work from the European and Asian design competitions. The work of the panel is strictly impartial. The panel itself comprises mainly professional designers rather than educationalists or theorists. As our aim is to recognise good design, there is an implication that not all the applications will be achieve the distinction of receiving an award. This adds to the value of the submission which do reach that level.
