「Yeovil Literary Prize」簡介

Organised by the Yeovil Community Arts Association, this is your opportunity to enter five very different categories of writing. Aspiring writers throughout the world should enter this prestigious writing competition.

投稿主題：

• Category 1 Novel
  Requirement: Synopsis and Opening Chapters (combined maximum 10,000 words)
  Professional Judge: Barney Norris (Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature)
• Category 2 Short Story
  Requirement: Maximum 2,000 words
  Professional Judge: Nicholas Royle (Reader in Creative Writing at Manchester University)
• Category 3 Poetry
  Requirement: Maximum of 40 Lines
  Professional Judge: Adjoua Parker (Writer and Poet of English-Ghanaian Heritage)
• Category 4 Children’s and Young Adult Novel
  Requirement: First 3000 words plus a 500 word synopsis (May include one illustration)
  Professional Judge: Sharna Jackson (author who specialises in engaging young people)
• Category 5 Writing Without Restrictions
  Requirement: You write it – we’ll read it. Details are in your category Rules
  Professional Judge: Hazel Prior (Best selling author)

投稿條件：

• Entries must be the work of the entrant (who must be over 16), in English, (not translated into English) and must NOT have been previously self-published, broadcast, or accepted for publication.
• Entries may have appeared online, but NOT in any commercial online form (e.g. in a journal or magazine, or as part of a publication requiring payment to access.)
• Entries that have won or are currently shortlisted in other writing competitions DO qualify for entry.

投稿方式：

• There are two ways to enter, by using the postal system or online using PayPal, BACS or IBAN; its ease of use has been proven by new entrants. We look forward to receiving and reading your work when the contest opens on 1st January 2022. Send postal entries to: YCAA, The Octagon Theatre, YEOVIL, BA20 1UX
• Click on the Online menu link on the Home page and follow the instructions. There is extensive Help and guidance available at every stage in the process.

• Category 3 Poetry
  Prizes: 1st £600 2nd £250 3rd £125
• Category 4 Children’s and Young Adult Novel
  Prizes: 1st £600 2nd £250 3rd £125
• Category 5 Writing Without Restrictions
  Prizes: 1st £250 2nd £125 3rd £75
• The YCAA offers an additional award of £100 for the Western Gazette Best Local Writer, giving an added incentive for local writers who live within the distribution area of the Western Gazette to enter.

評選時程：

• The closing date for entries is the 31st May 2022.
• Longlisted entries will be shown on the website on 15th August.
• Shortlisted entries will be shown on 1st September.
• Winners will be notified by letter or email and the results published on the competition website ( www.yeovilprize.co.uk) on 30th September 2022.
